Evaluation & Learning
News & Reports

At Atlantic, we work with our grantees to design evaluations that assess the implementation and the impact of projects. The range of evaluation designs and methods we use reflects the range of approaches our grantees use to achieve their objectives.

We work within our foundation as well to evaluate and learn from our overall grantmaking efforts.

We also commission external experts to independently assess our work on an ongoing basis across the four programme areas and seven regions where we operate. These assessments focus on evaluating the progress of clusters of projects towards our strategic objectives.

Our strategic learning and evaluation efforts are aimed at:

  • enhancing our grantees’ capacity to improve their work by helping them assess their progress and learn from their experience;
  • improving our overall philanthropic work by helping us plan strategically, assess our progress and learn how to best target resources; and
  • demonstrating useful and credible lessons that help other funders, policy makers and practitioners work effectively on behalf of disadvantaged and vulnerable people during Atlantic’s lifetime and beyond.
